Parties of Note: Architectural Artistry

Marci and J. Fife Symington IV hosted 40 guests March 28 for a Phoenix Symphony Party of Note. The sold-out event was held in their home at the base of Camelback Mountain, designed by Fife’s stepfather Carefree architect Gerry Jones to celebrate the beauty of the surrounding desert landscape.

Guests mingled among a blend of traditional and contemporary elements as they sipped cocktails. The interior of the home features family antiques and artwork, from a collection of bullfighting prints by Spanish artist and printmaker Francisco Goya to a collection of Old Overholt whiskey bottles from the company owned by Abraham Overholt, who was Fife Symington’s third great-grandfather.

The Phoenix Symphony Brass Quintet featuring Kevin Bock, tuba; Emery Harvison, trumpet; Gabe Kovach, French horn; Benny Nguyen, trumpet; and Chris Wolf, trombone, entertained guests before dinner.

In its seventh season, Parties of Note is a one-of-a-kind program offering a unique opportunity to spend an evening in an intimate setting with Symphony musicians and friends, while enjoying a gourmet meal in some of the Valley’s finest homes.
