Fashionistas Pack the House for Arizona Costume Institute Holiday Luncheon
The Arizona Costume Institute Holiday Luncheon has become a “must do” Valley tradition. This year’s event, chaired by Ronna Beeson, packed Phoenix Art Museum’s Steele Gallery on Dec. 8, raising funds to support the programs of the museum’s Fashion Design Collection.
The event coincided with “The White Shirt According to Me: Gianfranco Ferre” exhibition, offering guests the opportunity to view Ferré’s exquisite all-white designs.
The featured speaker, highly acclaimed fashion expert and creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis, opened her presentation by congratulating the large audience for its great sense of style and elegance and shared her best fashion memories collected over the years meeting with fabulous fashion icons such as Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and many more. Mallis also offered practical tips on dressing essentials.
Guests were able to have their copies of Mallis’ first book Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis signed by the fashion maven herself. The book features 19 interviews from Mallis’s conversation series with designers like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and others. Miriam Sukhman sponsored speaker Fern Mallis.
