Valley’s Top Designers Wow Guests at Independent Woman Luncheon
Each year, Phoenix Art Museum’s Independent Woman Luncheon wows guests with stunning table creations by top Valley designers. On Feb. 2, 56 designers participated in the event, topping lavender or taupe tablecloths based on a design by Suzanne Kasler with a variety of centerpieces, from floral to architectural, in colors from lavender to reds, oranges and yellow. The results were stunning.
Atlanta-based Kasler of Suzanne Kasler Interiors, known for her classic style, has been featured in design magazines including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Traditional Home and more. She is also the author of several design books, including Timeless Style, which were available to guests for purchase and autographing at the event. Kasler sat on stage with Kelly Persellen, former publisher of Luxe Magazine and now the CEO of Kelly, Inc. for a Q&A.
The luncheon plates, in particular the entrées, were as spectacular as the table designs. Guests were served a roasted carrot soup topped with a house-made lavosh crisp starter, and an entrée of grilled herbed chicken with shaved asparagus, pomegranate and toasted walnut salad, and baby greens with a champagne drizzle. Dessert was lemon brûlée tart, fresh berries, raspberry coulis, lemon mousse, and a dark chocolate truffle macaron garnished with edible flower.
Amy Cohn chaired this year’s luncheon, which raised $300,000 for the exhibition and educational programming funds at Phoenix Art Museum.
