Ryan House Celebrates 12th Annual Community Breakfast

Almost 1,100 guests attended Ryan House’s Virtual Community Breakfast on Aug. 28. The event kicked off a yearlong celebration of the organization’s 10th anniversary and raised $250,000-plus. Barb Flynn and Laura Tolson co-chaired the breakfast, and Lin Sue Cooney, Hospice of the Valley’s community engagement director, teamed up with 12News anchor Mark Curtis to co-emcee the event.

Ryan House co-founders Jonathan and Holly Cottor received the Courage Award during the breakfast. Local artist Jacki Cohen created the fused glass plate they were presented in commemoration of the celebration.

Ryan House’s founding board—Jonathan Cottor, Diane Eckstein, Jon Ford, Dr. David Hirsch, Gerda Klein, Susan Levine, Rachel Oesterle, Dr. Susan Palmer-Hunter, Kris Scardello, Judy Schubert, Charles Scott, Judy Shannon, Faye Tait, Patty Taylor and Nancy White—was recognized during the event, along with founding partners—The Board of Visitors, the Junior League of Phoenix, Dignity Health and St. Joe’s, Orcutt Winslow, Kitchell Construction and Vitalist Health Foundation (formerly St. Luke’s Health Initiative).
