Legacy Luncheon

The Legacy Luncheon annual benefit that honors retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor was successfully converted to an online webcast due to the pandemic. Under the direction of luncheon co-chairs Jan Lewis and Carolyn O’Malley, and the Ladies of the Court, the Women’s Board of the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute, the Dec. 18 event was themed “Home for the Holidays.”

Susan Page and Barbara Pierce Bush

Political editor Susan Page, author of The Matriarch, the biography of Barbara Bush, was the keynote speaker, along with Barbara Pierce Bush, the granddaughter and namesake of the late first lady.

Luncheon delivery from Tarbell’s

Chef Mark Tarbell of Tarbell’s restaurant created an optional commemorative menu utilizing Justice O’Connor’s white bean chicken chili recipe, which many guests chose to order for the occasion. More than 500 guests viewed the fascinating and dynamic program that generated more than $250,000 in proceeds for the Institute.
