DFA Plans ‘Twice the Fun in 2021’

For the first time in its 55-year history, the Desert Foundation Auxiliary has decided to postpone its annual Desert Ball. The 2020 Desert Ball will be combined with the 2021 55th Desert Ball. The ball is traditionally held in December, and a new date has not been set. Citing the issues with the COVID-19 pandemic and the concern for this year’s 26 debutantes, their families, guests and members, along with vendors, the decision was made by the board of directors last week.

The debutantes and their families were notified in a video prepared by Jill Hegardt, ball chair, and her co-chair, Jenny Ellis.

Over the next year, DFA members will develop approaches to accommodate the existing 2020 debutantes and the future 2021 debutantes to create a memorable Ball that is “Twice the Fun in 2021.”
