Xavier, Brophy Students Win National Art Awards

Jessica Vining, theater teacher and director at Xavier College Preparatory, has announced that Xavier and Brophy students were among the winners of this year’s 15th Annual National Youth Arts Awards. They were selected from nominations by a panel of more than 50 judges and reviewers.

Awards went to:

  • Lead Performance in a Musical: Grace Dimond ’20 (graduated) as Jo March in Little Women
  • Lead Performance in a Musical: Sara Watson ’20 (graduated) as Marian Paroo in The Music Man 
  • Supporting Performance in a Musical: Kyra Klonoski ’20 (graduated) as Marmee March in Little Women
  • Supporting Performance in a Musical: ​Andy Wissink ’21 (senior) ​as Laurie Laurence in Little Women
  • Ensemble: Little Women
  • Outstanding Featured Performance in a Play: ​Kate Brink ’22 (junior) ​as Kalypso in My Father, Odysseus (Brophy-Xavier Theatre)
  • Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Play: ​Jordan Baker ’21 (senior) ​as Muse and Anticlea in My Father, Odysseus (Brophy-Xavier Theatre)
  • Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Play: ​Alisha Waheed ’22 (junior)​ as Athena in My Father, Odysseus (Brophy-Xavier Theatre)
