Xavier College Prep Hosts Virtual X-Breakfast

Xavier College Prep revamped its X-Breakfast, one of its flagship fundraising events that is usually held on the school campus.

“When we began planning early this year, no one could anticipate COVID or how it would affect our event. However, we had a fantastic committee that discovered the latest in technological apps so that it was easy to register, attend and donate,” says Matt Campisi, X-Breakfast co-chair, along with Lygia Harkins ’94.

Amy O’Sullivan, Xavier’s director of institutional advancement, adds, “The benefit of hosting a virtual event is that people from all over the country attended, and we raised more over $275,000. Because of their generosity, we are now very close to finishing our Legacy of Leadership Capital Campaign.”

Including Xavier students watching from their classrooms or online, 850 people attended. Elena Flores Breese ’00, spoke about surviving the Boston Marathon bombing and how she lives with PTSD. Her inspirational story resonated with the audience, especially when she gave tips on dealing with stress and anxiety.
