Valley Youth Theatre Oscar Event

More than 100 attend red-carpet party at Galvanize

The Billie Jo Herberger Presents Oscar at The Oscars viewing party drew more than 100 guests to Galvanize in downtown Phoenix to view the 91st Academy Awards on Feb. 24. The fundraiser for Valley Youth Theater also served as a “friend-raising” affair.

Lining the red carpet as guests arrived were gift bags valued at more than $350. In addition, guests were welcomed by a string quartet of VYT Orchestra members. VYTeens performed “Shallow” from A Star is Born and “The Place Where Lost Things go” from Mary Poppins Returns, both nominated for Best Original Song.
