Valley Leadership Celebrates Man and Woman of the Year

Valley Leadership held its Man & Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon on March 8 at the Arizona Biltmore. The organization selected as its 2018 honorees Sharon Harper and Neil Giuliano. Both were recognized for their extensive accomplishments and commitment to the community. The Man of the Year program dates back to 1949, when the organization selected Senator Barry Goldwater as its first honoree. In 1951, Marjorie Suggs was named the first Woman of the Year.

About 800 guests attended the event, raising $200,000 to support Valley Leadership’s programs and services, including its two signature programs, Valley Leadership Institute and Valley Leadership Accelerate. The funds will also provide scholarships for those two programs. The program included remarks by Dave Brown, president and CEO of Valley Leadership and videos of the honorees. Harper and Giuliano spoke from the stage, followed by a fireside chat with Brown. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona was the presenting sponsor.
