Children’s Museum Gala Creates Swashbuckling Good Time on Treasure Island
The Children’s Museum of Phoenix hosted its 2016 gala, Treasure Island, on April 16. The fun party under the stars drew 332 guests to the museum and raised $204,977 to benefit the museum’s Every Child Program.
Festivities began with a dual cocktail party/culinary adventure inside the museum. The tasty appetizers were provided by Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails, Bootleggers Modern American Smokehouse, District American Kitchen & Wine Bar, Jewel’s Bakery & Café, JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Silent auction items were displayed throughout the first and second floors of the museum.
For dinner, the party moved to the museum’s parking lot, which was decorated in the Treasure Island theme. The dinner was catered by Copper Square Kitchen. During dinner, the live auction featured five items, with two Adele Live VIP packages selling at $7,500 each.
The individual Kids at Heart Award was given to Terry Hanson, and APS received the corporate Kids at Heart Award.
Back inside the museum, guests danced to music provided by DJ Mr. Phoenix at the after party, and enjoyed sweet treats provided by The Melting Pot Restaurant, Chestnut, Fairytale Brownies, Kick Ass Kakes and Artizen Restaurant at the Camby.
Brandi Hunt and Christy Stofko co-chaired the evening.
The Every Child Program provides 50,000 free or reduced admission passes to low-income, at-risk children and their families annually.
