The Oct. 14 Porch Party fundraiser for Cancer Support Community Arizona centered around the theme Magical Moments. The outdoor event included cocktails in the “front yard” of the downtown Phoenix bungalow that is home to the organization, followed by dinner in the home’s “back yard.” Some of the magic was provided by magician Craig Davis, who entertained guests during the cocktail hour.

Live and silent auctions contributed to the $150,000 raised during the event, which will be used to offer education, emotional support, valuable connections and critical resources so cancer patients and their families can be active during in their own treatment, learn skills to help gain control over the impact of their diagnosis and restore hope for their future.

The evening honored Cancer Support Community Arizona founders Paula and Bob Hardison, Dave Frazer, Jerry Hirsch, Diane Walker, Sue Della Maddalena and Greta Shipman. Dawn Carson Senger and Martha Ostrom co-chaired the event. What’s the Big Idea Jazz Trio and Davis Magic entertained.
