8th Annual Driving Out Domestic Violence Gala

The 8th Annual Driving Out Domestic Violence Gala and Golf weekend began Nov. 2 with its Celebrity Golf Tournament at Talking Stick Golf Club. Then on Nov. 3, guests mixed and mingled with celebrity athletes while enjoying live music, signature cocktails, a one-of-a-kind silent auction and dinner by Dominick’s Steakhouse at Ross Aviation in north Scottsdale.

Driving out Domestic Violence was started to support Chrysalis’ domestic abuse programs in 2011. Lauren Teahen and her husband, Mark, a retired professional baseball player, founded the event in honor of Lauren’s late mother, Shelley, a domestic abuse survivor. For this year’s event, the Teahens were joined by co-chairs Dr. Anthony Admire and Victoria Admire.

The w018 event raised $470,000. To date, Driving Out Domestic Violence Celebrity Golf and Gala has raised more than $1.8 million for Chrysalis, a 36-year-old Arizona agency.
