30 Years of Leadership Honored at Past Chairs’ Tea

The 2016 Dinner on the Desert, scheduled for April 30, will be the 30^thdinner to support Desert Botanical Garden. Past chairs – several who have served more than one time – of the fundraising soiree, were honored for their leadership Jan. 26 at an afternoon tea. The event was held at Northern Trust Company.

In 1986, Nancy White and Elizabeth Alpert co-hosted the first dinner, which was held in the arena at Tom Chauncey’s ranch in north Scottsdale. Since that first event, where guests enjoyed a beautiful Arabian horse show generously donated by Tom Chauncey, the dinner has been held at the Garden. The only year in which no dinner was held was 1989. Mary Heiss and Harold Dorenbecher will co-chair the 2016 dinner.

The afternoon tea was hosted by the Past Chair Committee of Dinner on the Desert and coordinated by sub-committee chairs Lee Cohn, Amy Flood and Carolyn O’Malley.
