National Quarterback Club Awards Dinner

The National Quarterback Club presented its Awards Dinner and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Jan. 17 at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. Valley resident Bill Shover was honored with the 2019 Legacy Recognition Award for his decades of philanthropy in communities and organizations in Phoenix.

The event also recognized Bryce Young of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif., with the High School Quarterback of the Year Award. Louisiana State University’s Joe Burrow received the College Quarterback of the Year Award. Drew Bledsoe and Rich Gannon were inducted into the National Quarterback Hall of Fame.

Major Ed Pulido, U.S. Army (Ret.) delivered the keynote address at the event. Letitia Frye served as the evening’s auctioneer, and Nate Nathan and the Mac Daddy Os provided the entertainment. Raising Cane’s was the presenting sponsor. Proceeds benefit Folds of Honor, The Salvation ArmyMassachusetts General HospitalHearStrong Foundation, National Sports Foundation and the XOXO Stabler Foundation.

The awards dinner will be an annual event in Phoenix as the organization has made the Valley its permanent home.
