Moondance at the Heard
The Heard Museum’s annual fundraising gala was held Oct. 22 in the Freeport McMoRan Plaza at the museum. The beautiful outdoor evening drew 425 guests for an artist tour, cocktail reception, dinner and dancing.
The event honored Paradise Valley residents Arlene and Giora Ben-Horin, who have made many contributions to the museum over the years. Arlene began her work with the museum as a member of the Heard Museum Guild, and has served on the board of trustees since 2008. She chaired Moondance in 2010. In addition, native painter Kay WalkingStick was honored. Her national touring exhibition, Kay WalkingStick: An American Artist, is on view at the Heard Museum through Jan. 8, 2017.
Susan Navran and Elizabeth Murfee DeConcini, members of the museum’s board of trustees, were the chair and co-chair, respectively. The evening raised in excess of $300,000 for the general support of the museum.
