Indulge Casino and Culinary Fundraiser

Devereux Arizona nets $30K at lively event

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona hosted its Indulge Casino and Culinary Fundraiser on Sept. 28 at Young’s Market Company in Phoenix. Wade Cota, the 27-year-old singer/songwriter from Phoenix who made it to the Top 5 on American Idol last May, provided a special guest appearance. In addition to performing, Cota shared his inspirational story.

Approximately 200 people attended the event, where they enjoyed food, drink and casino-style games. In all, Devereux Arizona netted more than $30,000 to benefit the youth receiving treatment and services through Devereux.

The event marked the end of an era as Lane Barker, who has worked for the organization for 25 years and spent the last 14 years as its executive director, retired Oct. 1.

Devereux’s programs and services include therapeutic foster care for children and adults with serious mental illness, respite services, counseling services, behavior coaching, an adolescent health and wellness clinic, autism services and residential treatment.
