Holiday Prelude XXXIV

Holiday Prelude celebrated its 34th annual fashion show, luncheon, holiday boutiques and raffle Dec. 16 at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn. The festive event is co-hosted by and benefits Phoenix Theatre Company Guild and Phoenix Youth Symphony.

The boutiques, which guests browsed prior to the luncheon, featured a range of offerings, including clothing, accessories, candles and other holiday merchandise. Connie’s Corner, a special tradition, offered cakes, cookies and holidays treats.

Guests then enjoyed a luncheon of shaved Brussels sprouts and cranberry salad, sage and garlic chicken breast and banana caramel tart. Julia Libling and her committee designed the luncheon centerpieces, which were sold afterward to guests.

A highlight was the fashion show created by Tanya Barnes-Matt. “Rhapsody of Fashion” on the runway featured Galina Couture, The Clotherie, Lourdes Chavez Couture, Fashion by Robert Black and Jewels by Alan Anderson. Designer Galina Mihaleva took a bow on the runway during the show.

Janet Richter and Patsy J. Kelly co-chaired the event, and Lin Sue Cooney served as emcee.

Phoenix Theatre Company Guild was founded in 1953 to support Phoenix Theatre Company, which celebrates its 100th season this year.  Phoenix Youth Symphony, founded in 1947, supports three youth orchestras and four ensembles comprised of 300 young musicians.
