3rd Annual Harvest Moon Dinner

C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) held its third annual Harvest Moon Dinner on Nov. 14 at MacDonald Ranch’s Desert Foothills Barn in north Scottsdale. The outdoor dining occasion raised $27,000 to fund scholarships for deserving students across the state of Arizona to prepare them for a career in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

More than 200 guests attended the event, where C-CAP high school students and teachers paired with 25 top local chefs to create sweet and savory small plates for guests to enjoy as they visited the various food stations.

The evening honored Barbara Colleary, founding member of C-CAP Arizona and pioneer and former director of the organization; Chef Christopher Gross, owner of Christopher’s and Crush Lounge and chef at the Wrigley Mansion’s Geordie’s Restaurant; Chef Vincent Guerithault of Vincent on Camelback; Chef Michael DeMaria of M Culinary; and Chef Richard Sederholt of The Peninsula Golf and Country Club.

Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock’s 3Nations and Flavour provided the entertainment. Chefs Mark Tarbell and Beau MacMillan served as the evening’s emcees.

The event was organized by MaryLynne Christman, Collaborative Event Management; Janet Gangi, Wines for Humanity; Luis Shaban, Chef Works; and Margo Kesler, in addition to the C-CAP AZ team.
