Sundae Summit Challenge

Giant Sundae 1The Valley’s top newscasters will compete in the “Sundae Summit Challenge” ice cream eating contest at The Phoenician this Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 12-1 p.m., all in the name of fun and charity.  Open to the public, the event will allow visitors to support the children and family members of the 19 Yarnell firefighters who recently lost their lives by donating to the Yarnell Fire Memorial Scholarship Endowment, while also supporting their favorite on-air personalities.

The “Sundae Summit Challenge” is a special creation of The Phoenician’s culinary team and is available at the resort’s Café and Ice Cream Parlor for $49.  The colossal concoction includes 19 scoops of ice cream, three Heath® bars, three Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars, six ounces of caramel sauce, six ounces of strawberry sauce, two cups of chocolate sauce and one cup of whipped cream, along with other signature ingredients.  The sundae features a whopping 14,335 calories of delicious decadence.  Resort guests/visitors who can finish the sumptuous sundae in one hour receive it for free, along with a special T-shirt.
