Phoenix Fashion Week Returns with 25 Shows

Phoenix Fashion Week returns with its annual series of runway shows Oct. 18 – 20 at Talking Stick Resort. The three-day event celebrates the conclusion of a four-month emerging designer boot camp. Led by Kym Gold, True Religion Jeans co-founder, the program includes a selection of 12 designers from around the nation who have been preparing to launch their collections in Phoenix in front of more than 5,000 guests.

For the first time, Phoenix Fashion Week’s 25 fashion shows, red carpet experiences and behind-the-scenes footage will be live streamed around the globe. The organization recently signed a live stream partnership with National Cable TV Group, Cox Media. This TV docu-series features Phoenix Fashion Week’s event recaps, offstage moments on the YurView channel in 21 cities across the country.

As October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fashionably Pink kicks off the festivities on Oct. 18, raising awareness for local breast cancer charity Don’t be a chump! Check for a Lump. A total of 30 breast cancer survivors and local personalities including Dr. Brian Gawley, Dr. Raman Mahabir, Oscar De la salas and Javier Soto of 3TV will walk the runway in pink garments.

This year’s schedule builds on the success of last year. Many former Phoenix Fashion Week participants return as established designers, such as ‘Lifestyle Designer of the Year’ Quinlan Wilhite of Qmulative, ‘Contemporary Designer of the Year’ Joanne Snodgrass of Nouvelle Palm Beach and ‘Couture Designer of the Year’ Loren Aragon of Aconav.

On Oct. 20, designer to the stars Yas Couture by Elie Madi and international designer Rocky Gathercole will close the show with a finale featuring extravagant couture designs. To conclude the event, Phoenix Fashion Week will award both Designer of the Year and Model of the Year Male and Female titles.
