Designer to the Stars to Visit Phoenix Art Museum

Arizona Costume Institute presents its annual Holiday Luncheon at Phoenix Art Museum on Dec. 3. This year’s guest of honor is Stephen Jones, one of the most innovative contemporary milliners.

The luncheon, chaired by Lynne Love, will feature an exclusive presentation and a book signing of Stephen Jones: Souvenirs, by the internationally renowned designer whose creations have graced many high society events in Europe and across the world.

Since the early 1980s, British milliner Jones has collaborated with designers from Vivienne Westwood to Claude Montana. Currently collaborating with Thom Browne and Christian Dior, Jones’ hats and fascinators have been, and continue to be, an integral component in some of the most memorable runway spectacles of the past quarter-century. His creations have been spotted at this year’s royal wedding in London, in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and adorning the heads of his celebrity clientele.

ACI was founded in 1966 to support Phoenix Art Museum’s Fashion Design Department in the acquisition and preservation of garments and accessories of historical and aesthetic significance. It also promotes appreciation of fashion design through programs and support of the Museum’s exhibitions. ACI’s support of this collection area depends on the enthusiasm of dedicated volunteers to help maintain and expand the collection and educational programming.

The annual fundraiser is organized in an effort to celebrate style and support the Fashion Design Department at Phoenix Art Museum. This year’s event will also honor Mary Ellen McKee, the first ever honorary luncheon chair.
