The 53rd annual springtime fete to benefit the American Cancer Society lit up the night at Phoenix Country Club on May 3. The gala affair included dinner, dancing and live entertainment provided by Ray Herndon and the Herndon Brothers Band.
The evening honored Steve Rizley, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Communications, Southwest Region.
Cancer patient Dennis Bailey and his wife, Cheryl, shared their stories to underscore the value of the American Cancer Society’s services. Bailey, a Vietnam war veteran from Prescott, used the Society’s Hope Lodge facility during his recent treatments.
More than 400 guests attended the party. NBC 12 anchor Fay Fredricks emceed this year’s event. The evening concluded with song, dance and fireworks. Lisa Shover Kackley and Lee Courtney co-chaired the event.
