The American Cancer Society’s 52nd annual gala May 4 at Phoenix Country Club raised $419,000 in the fight against cancer. The French-themed outdoor picnic under the stars welcomed about 450 guests for dinner, entertainment, dancing and a live auction.

Funds raised from the gala will help the American Cancer Society, which turns 100 years old this year, finish the fight against cancer.

Deborah Bateman, National Bank of Arizona, and Joyce Santis, Sonora Quest Laboratories, co-chaired the soiree. Peter Fine, president and CEO of Banner Health, was the evening’s honoree. Sponsors included Banner MD Anderson and Sonora Quest Laboratories.
