Arizona Theatre Company celebrated its 46th season with Curtain Up Cabaret on April 20 at the Herberger Theater Center. About 170 guests attended the annual benefit gala, which was highlighted by a the presentation of the Georgy Award.

This year's honoree was arts advocate and philanthropist Sally Lehmann. She has been a member of the ATC family for more than 20 years. Lehmann served as a board member from 1991 to 1997, and has helped plan and fundraise for the annual Curtain Up Cabaret since 2000. She served as co-chair for the event in 2011.

Named after Arizona Theatre Company trustee emeritus and longtime benefactor George Rosenberg, the Georgy Award is presented annually to individuals and organizations that have made an outstanding commitment to the theater or a meaningful contribution to ATC, or embody the spirit of ATC’s mission through their work with the arts community.

Funds raised through “Curtain Up Cabaret” will be used to support ATC’s productions and engagement programs. These initiatives further the company’s mission of producing professional theater and contributing to Arizona arts education initiatives.

The gala featured a special cabaret performance by Friends of Dennis Rowland and The Phoenix Boys Choir.

Betty McRae and Bill Sheppard co-chaired the occasion. Fabulous Food catered the dinner.
