Toast of the Town

Inaugural event raises a glass to Banner MD Anderson physicians

Forty people gathered April 25 at the Troon North home of Dr. Jim Kort and his wife, Ina Smeets-Kort, for the inaugural Toast of the Town, an educational and social event series presented by Banner Health Foundation. Featuring unique homes and venues in the Valley, Toast of the Town celebrates the cancer care and research Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center brings to the community and gives guests the opportunity to interact with one another and Banner’s esteemed physicians.

Guests enjoyed an outdoor reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, sweeping views of the golf course and the guitar stylings of Stanley Serrano. After being welcomed by Lamont Yoder, CEO of Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, the reception transitioned into a seated dinner during which Banner MD Anderson physicians visited each table to share their latest innovations and research.
