Phoenix Theatre announces a promising lineup for its 99th season, with 11 productions plus the Festival of New American Theatre. Kicking off the new year in January 2019 will be The Second City’s It’s Not You, It’s Me, an improvised adventure into the modern dating scene and the age-old phenomenon that is falling in love. Closing out the season will be Million Dollar Quartet, showcasing the 1956 impromptu jam session of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Fun Home • Oct. 10 – Dec. 2, 2018 – This five-time Tony Award-winning musical tackles love, dysfunction and everything in between.
Elf: The Musical • Nov. 14 – Dec. 30, 2018 – This musical is the tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole.
The Second City’s It’s Not You, It’s Me • Jan. 2 – 20, 2019 – The show takes an improvised adventure into the modern dating scene and explores the age-old phenomenon that is falling in love.
Jersey Boys • Jan. 23 – March 10, 2019 – Featuring hits like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like A Man,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “December, 1963 (Oh What A Night),” Jersey Boys tells the unforgettable story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
Airness • March 6 – 31, 2019 – Fresh from the Humana Festival of New American Plays, Airness premieres at Phoenix Theatre. Nina, a newbie to the world of competitive air guitar, thinks it will be a cinch to take home a win.
Sisters in Law • April 3 – 28, 2018 – This new play features the relationship between polar opposites and modern day legends Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Sandra Day O’Connor.
Cookin’s a Drag • April 4 – May 19, 2019 – The show points the spotlight on Betty D. Licious and her scrumptious back-up boys for her fifth anniversary special, cooking on live TV.
Once • May 2 – June 16, 2019 – This 18-time Tony Award-winning musical is a charming boy-meets-girl story with a twist and a reminder of the true power of music.

Phoenix Theatre also announces the 20th annual Festival of New American Theatre, formerly known as the Caleb Reese Festival of New Plays and Musicals. The Festival happens Jan. 25 through Feb. 10, 2019, and features rehearsed readings, with script in hand, of new, unproduced plays and musicals, as well as a Composer/Lyricist Cabaret.
