JCC Gala Honors Sue and Bud Selig

More than 700 guests attended the Valley of the Sun JCC gala honoring Sue and Bud Selig. The largest fundraiser in The J’s history, the Dec. 8 soiree at the Arizona Biltmore generated more than $2.2 million for The J and its programs.

The evening honored the Seligs with the inaugural William S. Levine Family Community Excellence Award for their commitment, passion, service and leadership within their community. The Maya Schulder Rising Star Award was presented to Sara Schneider for her commitment, leadership and service to transforming the lives of those who belong to The J.

Former MLB player and current sportscaster Bob Uecker emceed the evening, which featured entertainment by late night-show host, standup comedian and best-selling author Jay Leno. In addition to sharing his comedy, Leno helped auction a private tour of his custom garage and car collection. Bidding was fast and furious, and the star added additional tours.

After the event, major donors and sponsors were invited to a VIP reception with Leno.
