Scottsdale Cinematheque Series
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will showcase acclaimed international films during the inaugural Scottsdale Cinematheque series organized by Amy Ettinger, director of Scottsdale International Film Festival.
The new independent, foreign and art films not yet screened at other Valley theaters will be making their Arizona premieres in the Center’s 137-seat Stage 2 theater on select weekends from May through September. Screenings will have reserved seating and complimentary popcorn and iced tea. The series will also feature occasional guest appearances and live video conversations with filmmakers, when available.
“The Scottsdale Cinematheque film series is a cool and arty cinematic escape for Arizona during our hot spring and summer months,” says Ettinger. “I’m delighted that we can showcase distinctive films as an extension of the Scottsdale Film Festival. The soul of the series is similar to the festival in that we present films of merit that otherwise may not reach the big screen locally.”
