Beach Ball Raises $1.65M

Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation‘s 26th Annual Beach Ball on March 2 celebrated its tradition of using a new beach destination each year as its theme. The event at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa whisked guests away to the Flora-Bama Coast. “Party in the Panhandle” was a festive evening complete with a cocktail reception and dinner, photo ops, and live and silent auctions.

Another tradition of the event is recognition of an individual or group with the Dr. Herbert J. and Julie Louis Spirit of Hope Award. This year, the Thunderbirds were recognized for their longtime, loyal support. Donations from the Thunderbirds over the years exceed $2.5 million.

Guests and sponsors raised more than $1.65 million to support the hospital’s delivery of world-class care and helped fund the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Alexa Schneider and Becca Clayton co-chaired the 2019 event.
