2016 Promise Ball

JDRF black-tie nets $1.7 million for diabetes research.

The 2016 Promise Ball, JDRF Desert Southwest Chapter’s black-tie fundraiser, netted $1.7 million for type 1 diabetes research. The Nov. 12 evening at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia was themed “An Evening of Gratitude.”

The 650 guests enjoyed a pre-dinner silent auction with entertainment by Jo Watson and the Birdman. Dinner was served at tables set with a fall/Thanksgiving look, created by White House Design Studio. Following dinner, James Gang from West Coast Music of Beverly Hills and special guest Rudy Colombini, a Mick Jagger impersonator) entertained.

The occasion honored the Volk Family, with Hollis Volk serving as chair for the gala.
