Teach for America Dinner Raises $544K

Teach for America – Phoenix hosted its annual Celebration Dinner on March 29 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. The evening honored Nita and Phil Francis, who have championed the organization’s cause since 2009.

More than 450 guests attended the event, which included a cocktail reception, dinner and program. Kari Dozer served as emcee for the evening that raised $544,000 for Teach for America. Wendy Briggs and Jay Kaprosy were recognized for their pro-bono lobbying services through Veridus, LLC to Teach for America – Phoenix since 2007. Their efforts in securing state funding for the region have helped bring promising leaders to Phoenix and enlist passionate individuals in the movement for educational equity.
