Lunch & Learn Series Returns to Sanctuary


Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa’s kitchen presents its 2018 edition of the award-winning Lunch & Learn series, now in its 16th year. The series, held in The Views Ballroom, includes lunch and dinner events Aug. 4 through Sept. 1.

Top chefs will join Beau MacMillan, Sanctuary’s executive chef, for interactive cooking demonstrations including a three-course meal with wine, live musical entertainment, Q&A opportunities and take-home recipes.

 

THE 2018 LINEUP:

Beau MacMillan

Sat., Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m., $145/person – Chef Carl Ruiz

Ruiz is the owner of Marie’s Italian Specialties in Chatham, N.J. In addition to running his restaurant, he is a judge on Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games. He will be preparing an Italian-inspired dinner paired with Italian wines.

Sat., Aug. 11, 12 p.m., $85/person – Chef James Porter

Porter is a local chef and owner of TERRA farm + manor in Prescott, Ariz. He will be sharing a farm-to-table inspired lunch, paired with unique American wines.

Sat., Aug. 25, 6:30 p.m., $145/person – Tony Abou-Ganim, Samantha Sanz and Rene Andrade

Abou-Ganim is a world-class mixologist, bar owner and author. He will be creating cocktails for a dinner prepared by local chefs Sanz of Talavera, and Andrade, formerly of elements, who is opening Tempe’s Ghost Ranch this summer. The Mexican-inspired dinner will be paired with Fortaleza tequila cocktails.

Sat., Sept. 1, 6:30 p.m., $145/person – Chef Danny Grant

Grant is a chef and restaurateur based in Chicago. He was the youngest American chef to earn two Michelin stars (2011 and 2012). Grant will prepare a dinner, paired with some of California’s finest wines.

Fri., Sept. 7, 6:30 p.m., $145/person –  Chuck Wiley and Chris Brugman

This event will showcase Castle Hot Springs, the newest resort of the WestRoc family slated to open this fall. Chuck Wiley, Mountain Shadows executive chef, and Chris Brugman, Castle Hot Springs executive chef, deliver a Harvest of the Day dinner experience utilizing vegetables foraged from their organic garden along with other locally sourced ingredients and wine pairings form Eco Terreno Wines by Mark Lyon.
