Conservation Celebration

Desert Botanical Garden hosted its second annual Conservation Celebration luncheon Feb. 8 to benefit The Central Arizona Conservation Alliance. The occasion at the garden drew 273 guests and  took as its theme “connecting kids with nature.” The featured speaker was Juan D. Martinez, who shared how the power of the great outdoors changed the course of his life as a young person growing up in Los Angeles.

Tamara J. Woodbury received the garden’s second annual Award for Vision and Leadership for Conservation. Woodbury is the CEO of Girls Scouts – Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, serving more than 33,000 girls and adult volunteers across more than 90 communities.

Martha Hunter-Henderson and Pam Hait co-chaired the luncheon.
