Carlson Creek Vineyard Opens Scottsdale Tasting Room

Established in 2009, Carlson Creek Vineyard is a family-owned vineyard and winery located in southeastern Arizona, with tastings rooms in Willcox and now Scottsdale. Their 160-acre Willcox vineyard produces varietals of chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling, syrah, sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon, grenache and mourvedre, with chenin blanc and merlot varietals being locally sourced. Shipping is currently available to Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and New Mexico.

As part of the biggest expansion in their company’s history, Carlson Creek Vineyard opened its second tasting room in Scottsdale’s arts and entertainment district mid-July.

“A second tasting room has been a long time coming. The demand throughout the state has grown exponentially in recent years and Scottsdale seemed the obvious choice for a second location,” said co-owner Robert Carlson III. “The new tasting room will also be our largest, and with the additional space we hope to provide a venue to not only complement our locally made wines, but also to host educational events about wine tasting and the winemaking process, as well as the history of the Arizona wine industry.”

Tasting room in Scottsdale

The new 2300-square-foot space, located at 4142 N. Marshall Way in the heart of Scottsdale, houses the new tasting room with a 20-foot distressed copper bar and an art deco tin ceiling, along with bistro table and couch seating, a retail space and an education room for private wine tastings and events.

Located on the Scottsdale Art Walk, the Carlsons will also feature the work of local artists, which will rotate throughout the year. The first to be featured is PSA Behavioral Health Agency’s Art Awakenings, a program that helps children, adults and families recover from behavioral illnesses through the arts. The organization has studios throughout the state, now including a three-month installation at the Carlson’s tasting room.
