Organizers Kick Off 2017 Fresh Start Gala with Brunch and Fashion
Co-chairs Amanda Garmany, Annette Musa and Amy Videan kicked off the 21st Annual Fresh Start Gala on Oct. 12 at the Paradise Valley home of Char and Bill Hubble. The brunch occasion featured a breakfast bar and informal fashion show.
On hand for the show was designer Zang Toi, who presented his Spring 2017 collection, courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue. Inspired by the cascading wisteria at Giverny in France, the evening fashions included hand-embroidered and embellished gowns, coats and wraps incorporating violets and lavenders. Headpieces mimicked the florals of the gowns.
The spring gala is planned for March 4 at The Phoenician and will raise funds to support programs and services at the Women’s Resource Center, a facility that last year welcomed more than 21,000 visits.
Videan, a notable in the local fashion industry and dedicated advocate for Fresh Start, says the gala will be a fun and lively evening with a purpose. Attendees will be treated to a cocktail reception and dinner, live entertainment and dancing to a 25-piece band. Jan Lewis will be honored with the Founders’ Award.
This year’s gala theme is “Impact One Woman, Ignite Generations,” and serves as a reminder that when a woman is able to become self-sufficient, her family and the whole community are impacted positively. The featured color for the gala is yellow, which was beautifully carried out by Char Hubble in the décor for the brunch.
