Fund the Farm

Fund the Farm raised more than $50,000 on May 16 at Desert Botanical Garden. The event supports Spaces of Opportunity in its efforts to provide affordable access to healthy food in south Phoenix. The evening included tequila tastings and field-fresh hors d’oeuvres. Guests also enjoyed an exclusive concert by Tucson-based Vox Urbana  – a seven-piece band that combines Latin-based sounds with stories and experiences of the Arizona/Sonora border region.

Spaces of Opportunity is an incubator farm, community garden and farmers market that is transforming a food desert to a food oasis. Located on 18 acres in south Phoenix, Spaces of Opportunity is engineering a comprehensive neighborhood food system where gardeners, farmers and farm workers are celebrated as artisans.
