Dance With Me Raises More Than $500K for Ballet Arizona

Jillian Barrell, Ethan Price receive inaugural Hazel Hare Award

Rose and Harry Papp were honored at the Jan. 19 Dance With Me gala for their longtime support of Ballet Arizona and the community. More than 350 guests attended the soiree at Phoenix Art Museum, enjoying excerpts from the upcoming performance of Cinderella.

The evening showcased the dancers, and highlighted their passion, hard work and dedication. Dancers Jillian Barrell and Ethan Price received the inaugural Hazel Hare Award for Artistic Excellence. The award honors Hare for her transformational $4 million legacy gift to Ballet Arizona from her estate.

Following dinner, the tradition from which Dance With Me received its name brought guests to their feet to dance with the professional dancers.

Daryl Weil chaired the evening, with Adrienne Schiffner as her co-chair. The event raised in excess of $510,000 to support the ballet’s artistic and community programming.
