Compassion with Fashion

Arizona Humane Society’s Compassion with Fashion on March 31 drew 1,100 Valley pet lovers to raise funds to help the Valley’s most vulnerable homeless animals. The event at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa raised a record-breaking $1.3 million.

Guests enjoyed a silent auction featuring myriad one-of-a-kind items, followed by a seated luncheon courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

BOOM! LED Drumline opened the event as models representing fashions from My Sister’s Closet and Well Suited walked the runway. Emcees Scott Pasmore and Heather Moore of KTVK-3TV introduced the Parade of Paws, 11 adoptable dogs who overcame adversity to attend the event. The dogs included Thor, a golden Labrador mix who was born in an AHS Foster Hero home after his mother had been hit by a car and Nom Nom, an Australian shepherd puppy who was brought to AHS when another Valley shelter was too full. Felines like such as Oswald, Jet, Suzette and Willow also joined the fun. That afternoon, all 15 adoptable pets found their forever homes.

Following the program VIP guests enjoyed an after-part hosted by Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

Sisters Ann Siner and Tess Loo of Eco-Chic Consignments co-chaired the event.
