Buckles & Bangles

Almost 400 guests attended UMOM’s eighth annual Buckles & Bangles on Nov. 1 at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn. The gala raised more than $430,000, which will go directly toward supporting homeless youth and families. Guests embraced the western theme as they arrived in leather, turquoise, plaids and denim.

The evening’s program recognized Erik Olsson as the 2017 Heart for the Homeless honoree and McCarthy Building Companies as the 2017 Five Star Corporate Partnership honoree. A 16-year-old teen shared her difficult journey to gaining independence and self-reliance.

The evening included a mechanical bull, raffle, wine pull and silent and live auctions. Mogollon provided entertainment that kept guests on the dance floor throughout the evening. Kristine Newman and Sue Glawe co-chaired the event.
